Graphite on paper
21 x 29.7 cm, 2017
Part of an on-going series of drawings made between North Greenwich & Woolwich. It's an extraordinary area, constantly in flux: new developments encroach eastward down river; the tide relentlessly reveals and obliterates river bed and detritus; industrial structures alternate between dereliction & those still moving vast quantities of aggregate from ship to land.
I'd like each drawing to be a trace of the many moments in time which unfold around me as I draw, revealing the constant interactions between massive man-made & natural forces.
